In AP Environmental Science, the students have been learning about resource management. As a part of this unit, the students were asked to design a sustainable city. Each student chose a part of what makes a city work, researched current practices in that area, and then designed a more sustainable alternative. Emily Suarez chose restaurants, Gail Palmer chose transportation, Daniel Tarrant chose energy production, William Goodhew and Max Melton chose entertainment, and Yash Kubde chose the airport and professional sports. Yash did an awesome job designing a stadium that utilized a grey water recovery system, local food sources for the concessions, and a water collection system that captures rainwater and recycles that water to water the pitch (aka field). He also designed a logo for the city's soccer team Sustainable City FC; check it out below.
