Students in composition class have been working on a business letter assignment where they learned how to properly format a business letter, incorporate a professional and formal tone in their writing, and determine where specifically to send their letter. Today, William received a package from the recipient of his letter! William is an avid fan and connoisseur of hand-built pipe organs and chose to write his letter to Dobson Pipe Organ Builders in Lake City, Iowa, complimenting them on their craftsmanship, quality, and tonal superiority. His letter was courteous, professional, and very complimentary. Today he received their response, which included a letter of appreciation from the company president and a CD that showcases one of their hand-built organs from Merton College in Oxford, England (the first place outside the United States to house a Dobson Pipe Organ). Here’s to the power of the written word!
