Parent Volunteer Assn (PVA)
What is the PVA?
Even though MSA is located in the Alpharetta/ Milton area, our students come from over fifty (50) different zip codes in and around Metro Atlanta! So the Mill Springs Academy PVA is the best way to connect with other MSA families. The PVA provides opportunities to socialize, as well as, giving support and resources for your family.
The PVA consists of parent volunteers who commit their time and effort to improving the educational and social experience of our students. One of our main goals is to create a sense of community through the following PVA sponsored events:
- Family Fun Night
- Teacher Appreciation Lunches
- Campus Beautification
- Special Programs for New MSA Families
- Chick-Fil-A Monday's
- PVA Holiday Market
- PVA Used Uniform Store
Our major fundraiser this year will be our Mustang Mardi Gras, a winter auction. The details of this wonderful event are still being worked out and we are so excited about what's to come.
So join us by becoming a member of the PVA and volunteering to support the MSA Community.

In your School Handbook will be a list of individuals that head up the different committees and the school representatives for which you might be interested in volunteering.

Join your fellow MSA parents for coffee on Monday, October 7! Just drop your kids off at school and come on over to the Starbucks (at the intersection of Crabapple and Houze Roads - 12330 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta) right after.
This is a great opportunity to meet other parents, discuss your successes and struggles, and share advice and ideas. We look forward to seeing you there! All are welcome. This event is sponsored by your Parent Volunteer Association (PVA).
Box Tops, Coke Caps (PowerAde, Minute Maid, and Dasani), are due by Friday, October 18. Place items in a zipper bag or envelope with your studen't name and grade on the bag to be entered in the drawing. Send them in with your student or bring them on Conference Day! Drop in the collection containers in each School. EACH School will have a winner who can choose a $10 Gift Card from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Dick's or Target. The Parent Volunteer Association (PVA) is a fun organization for MSA parents! And, it’s WAY more than volunteering! The Mill Springs Academy parent community is as unique as its students. So many of us have traveled many roads to find ourselves here and this community "gets it."
The PVA can be a source of support with opportunities to get together and share stories, struggles, and successes with parents who understand in a way that other parents cannot. We offer opportunities, like a monthly Starbucks coffee (the next one is September 9), to meet other parents and support one another while we serve our community.
The PVA helps our school too! We raise funds by offering a Chick-fil-A lunch to our kids on Mondays and sell used uniforms at bargain prices. We also fund mini-grants from teacher requests for classroom supplies or special projects. This year, we were excited to make a substantial donation to the MSA Capital Campaign because of PVA’s fundraising efforts.
Join the PVA! It’s an annual membership. If you signed up last year, please sign up again this year. Your membership fee of $25 goes right back to the school to help fund important projects. Volunteer for CFA

Look at these free money programs that are easy ways for our school to earn $$$!! Ask family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to participate too.
Shop at www.smile.amazon.com. Use your current Amazon account if you have one. Select Mill Springs Academy as your charitable organization before you begin shopping. Same prices, selection, and shopping experience with the added bonus that a percentage of eligible purchases will be donated to our school. Earned to date - $800.00. Help us grow these earnings!
Box Tops for Education
Eventually the Box Tops Program will become digital only. Participating brands are starting to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Top label. Traditional Box Tops clips may continue to be found on many products throughout the store. You can still clip and send them to school. Make sure each one has a clearly visible product acronym and expiration date. If you see the new label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10 cents each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online. Turn your Coca-Cola product purchases into donations to Mill Springs. Sign up at coke.com/give/schools. Select "Mill Springs Academy" and scan or enter product codes from participating Coca-Cola products. If you prefer, drop caps and codes in the collection containers in each school or office to have codes entered for you.
Kroger Community Rewards Program
Make Mill Springs your choice for Kroger's Community Rewards program. Connect your Kroger Plus card to in-store purchases to benefit MSA. Or go to Kroger.com > Savings and Rewards > Kroger Community Rewards. Once you have created an account, or logged in, go to My Account > Community Rewards, then search for Mill Springs and select our school!
Throw away your Publix Partner Card! Then sign up on the Publix website for a percentage of eligible purchases to go to MSA. At checkout, you'll enter your phone number. It's that easy! We have earned over $20,000 to date from this program.
Tyson Project A+
Clip the entire A+ label found on frozen Tyson products. Place in a bag or envelope with your student's name & grade on the bag to be eligible for award drawings during the year. Drop in the collection containers in each school or at the office. More information can be found at www.projectaplus.tyson.com.

Used Uniform Shop
The Used Uniform Shop operates on your generous donations of uniforms that no longer fit your student. We sell gently used apparel to meet your child's needs. We are located in the Wrestling & Conditioning building. Uniform donations are always welcomed and appreciated! They can be dropped off in the Administration office.
All purchases made at the Used Uniform Shop support your Parent Volunteer Association (PVA).
- $5.00 - Shirts, Shorts
- $7.00 - Skirts, Skorts, Pants
- $12.00 - Sweaters, Fleece, Jackets

- Tuesdays from 8:00-9:00am
- Thursday from 2:30 - 3:30pm

How to Help:
We are always looking for wonderful volunteers to donate time in the Uniform Shop. Positions include manning the store during operation hours, washing donations, and pricing & organizing the clothes.
