Until Next Year

Oh boy! It is finally here - the last day of school is tomorrow! Yes it is only Thursday, but tomorrow is so full of events that there won't be time to squeeze in a newsletter in all of that fun. So you get it today instead!

This week we wrapped up final exams for 7-12th grades, I hope everyone did well. Then the Middle School took a trip to SkyZone. Next week is Soccer Camp so if you are planning on participating, you need to sign up.

This is the last Weekly News for the school year. But for those of you who will be attending Mill Springs in the fall, watch for a mailing in July with stuff you need to get organized for the new school year. Then once the school year starts up again, so will the Weekly News.

There is lots of information to follow, so don't miss any of it. We have had an awesome school year and look forward to another. Until next year - Enjoy your summer!

                       Judith Wellen

Many thanks go out to Judith Wellen (Aaron Breitkopf's mom) for assisting the Middle School this year. Due to your efforts we have thoroughly enjoyed our great events, parties, and Chick-fil-A lunches! Thank you for making this such an enjoyable school year!

Margaret Brito, Principal - Middle School

That's a Wrap!

Friday, Lower School students celebrated the end of a wonderful year. The students played putt-putt, ring toss, corn hole, and bowled. We also had a game truck come to campus, and the students were able to play video games (pictured). We even had a pizza party in the new Lower School. Everyone  had a blast! Thank you, Laurie Tindall (Will Giles' mom), for planning such an amazing party and to the parents that were able to volunteer. We hope that everyone has a fantastic summer and we will see you in August!

Register NOW for Mark Trail

For the next week Mark Trail Camp registration will be discounted $25/week for half day camps and $50/week for all day camps.  This promotion will end on May 27 - that's tomorrow!

Is your child going to be in the Middle School next year??  We have recently added two camps specially created for rising Middle School students to facilitate their summer reading requirements.  Ms. Gretchen and Ms. Courtney have a variety of activities which will bring the summer reading books alive!!

Two other new camps on our summer schedule are Coral Lab Camp and Bees and Honey. These both are extensions of popular PreUpper School clubs and classes.  Come join the Michaels as they continue to educate and excite students about biology and the world around them. SIGN UP HERE!

SENIORS: Keep Up With Friends

You are DONE with your high school career and are now an alumni! How awesome! I bet you thought it would never get here.

There are a couple things you need to know about being an Alumni of the Class of 2016:

  • First, you can still keep up with your friends through MUSTANG (yes, the place where you have gone to get homework).
  • Second, you can still get the MSA Weekly News sent to you.

In order for those two things to happen, you must send me your personal email - not your MSA millsprings.org email because that goes away soon - but your personal email address. Just REPLY to this newsletter and send me that information and I will take care of the rest.

Right now you have access to the Alumni Portal - but when school gets out that access will go away if you don't send me your personal email address. So do it today, right now while you are thinking about it. Then you will use the same password that you currently use with your personal email to access MUSTANG after you graduate.  THEN you will continue to receive copies of the MSA Weekly News in your inbox every week just like you do now so you can keep up with friends and teachers still here on campus.

So click on REPLY and send me your personal email address today! OH and keep in touch! We love to hear what is going on with everyone.

Report Cards

Spring Semester report cards will be posted on RenWeb on Friday, May 27 and will remain posted until June 10th. Parents, please remember to print yourself a copy as no hard copies are mailed home.

School Closed

Monday, May 30th, 2016

In observation of Memorial Day, Mill Springs Academy will be closed.

                        Gailynn Gluth

We would like to thank you for the hours of effort you have put forth in our school. Not only have you cleaned up our storage room to standards previously unknown, you have scrubbed our refrigerator to hospital cleanliness standards. On top of that, you even helped out with filling in the office!

                       Garon Allen

A huge shout-out to Garon Allen, Grandfather of 8th Grader Nic Allen, who presented a delicious meal to the staff last Friday. The CommArts teachers feasted on black-eyed peas, green beans, creamed corn, grilled chicken, barbeque beef, a cheese platter, and lettuce straight from the garden. This makes about the eighth feast that Mr. Allen has made for the CommArts teachers this year. "He's our own Master Chef," stated teacher Taniah Jones. "He's welcome any time."

Visit us this Summer

We have limited Faculty on campus during the summer, so if you come expecting to visit your favorite teacher, you may just be out of luck. BUT those of us here in the Administration office would love to see you. Just make sure you come during our summer office hours. Beginning on Tuesday, May 31st, we will all be here Monday through Friday from 9:00am - 4:00pm. Come on by and say "hi".

Summer Reading & Math

I know the students will be sad to hear this, but like every other year in the past, there will be summer reading and math for most everyone. We are in the process of getting it all together and out on the website. I hope to have it all available to you by the end of next week. So shortly after that check the following webpage for everything you need to know about summer reading and math for your school:
