Technology
In 1997, Mill Springs Academy was one of the first schools in the area to develop a 1:1 laptop program.
Today, students use school-issued Lenovo laptops and Chromebooks to support and enhance their learning. The Technology Department provides device repair for all in-warranty, school-issued devices to ensure our students’ experience with technology is as stress-free and productive as possible.
Using various software and cloud-based programs, students and staff have access to the technology they need to collaborate, innovate, and create. The Technology Department provides many assistive technology programs to support learning, such as text-to-speech, dictation, magnification, and audiobooks. We strive to create a purposeful relationship between our students and the technology they use, fostering skills they will need to succeed in and out of the classroom.
If you have any questions about Technology at MSA, please contact our Technology Department at technology@millsprings.org.
1:1 Device Information
Mill Springs Academy provides students with a school-issued device each school year, which is included in our annual Technology Fee.
If there are any issues or repairs needed, students receive a loaner device until their device is fixed. This ensures that there are no gaps in access and learning because of technology.
Lower School (Grades K-6) Device Information
Students in Lower School use school-issued Lenovo Chromebooks, managed by MSA. These devices remain in the classroom and are not taken home.
Upper School (Grades 7-12) Device Information
Students in the Upper School use school-issued Lenovo Thinkpad laptops, managed by MSA.
Note: The Technology Department understands a student might experience a need for a device or repairs outside of the regular school schedule (eLearning, Summer School, etc.). We are here to make sure our students have the technology they need to be successful year-round.
