Middle School

Teacher working with students on writing

The Middle School serves students in grades 6-8 and encompasses a nurturing and structured environment consisting of small class sizes and experienced dedicated teachers. The small structured classes allow for individualized instruction for students who are either not achieving up to their potential or for those students who need additional challenge in their area of strength. Academics incorporate a multi-sensory, "hands on" approach which help to enhance the instructional mastery process. The goal of the Middle School is for students to learn academic and social strategies that will assist the student in how they learn best. A major focus is to allow the student the opportunity to learn what works for them, in the social, academic and study skill arenas. Students learn where their strengths and emerging areas lie, as well as how to best advocate for their learning needs and strengths.

We started Mill Springs Academy in 2014 and we have seen such a big change in our daughter. She loves school so much now and she finally has friends that she can relate to. The small classroom sizes are fantastic. Math was a struggle for our daughter before, but now she loves it and her math grades have really improved. Each teacher really takes the time to make sure that each student understands what they are learning. The teacher's and Principal are so loving and caring. You can tell that they love what they do.  Middle School Parent
