Middle School

Teacher working with students on writing

Our Middle School serves students in grades 5 through 8. Middle School is where students dive head-first into Project-based Learning (PBL), developing critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity by engaging in hands-on projects that tie together multiple subjects. Core classes are taught on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, while Tuesdays and Thursdays are dedicated to elective courses that we call “Connections. ” These courses connect students to essential academic skills through subjects and topics that interest them. Middle School students begin to learn more about who they are, how their brain works, and the tools and skills that will prepare them to be Real World Ready.

We started Mill Springs Academy in 2014 and we have seen such a big change in our daughter. She loves school so much now and she finally has friends that she can relate to. The small classroom sizes are fantastic. Math was a struggle for our daughter before, but now she loves it and her math grades have really improved. Each teacher really takes the time to make sure that each student understands what they are learning. The teacher's and Principal are so loving and caring. You can tell that they love what they do.  Middle School Parent
