Burke Addison
Counselor

Burke has been in the professional field of mental health and special needs populations for a combined 9 years. He received training at a psychodynamic/behavioral modification program for addicts and alcoholics and then fell into the field of behavior science working as a ABA provider for early intervention/teens/adults with ASD.  Having both a clinical and behavioral background landed Burke into the school system providing both skills to students from elementary to middle school ages.  Burke has been a licensed mental health counselor since 2017.

Debbie James
Counselor

Debbie is a licensed professional counselor with 8 years of experience. Debbie has experience working with students who have learning differences both as a teacher and a counselor. Debbie has a Master’s in Marriage and Family counseling with a Graduate Certificate in School Counseling from the University of Southern California. Debbie is also a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS).

Indie Bowman
Speech/Language Pathologist

With over 20 years of experience serving individuals with language impairments, Indie's passion for guiding the whole student through academic and social situations has led her to Mill Springs Academy. Believing in the mission of MSA to teach kids in the way they need to learn, Indie is excited to serve teachers, students, and their families as a resource for facilitating communication skills in the classroom.

Aundryel Breland
Speech/Language Pathologist

Aundryel has worked in speech-language pathology for over 11 years, providing individual speech-language patient therapy and speech-language therapy for schools. Aundryel graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and then went on to obtain a Master of Education in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of West Georgia. Aundryel has led multiple in-services that focused on new technology and tools for the treatment of neurocognitive disorders.

Taniah Jones
Upper School Principal

Taniah is the Upper School Principal. She has 20 years of experience in teaching and administration. Taniah received her BA in English Education from Talladega College and is completing her MS in Educational Leadership. Taniah was the 2006 Teacher of the Year and has coached teams to four Girls Basketball Championships.

Ann Hartin
School Nurse

Ann has worked at Mill Springs Academy for over 30 years. She received her RN from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Ann has Nurse Paralegal certification.

Dr. Robert Slayden
Consultant

Dr. Slayden was a founding member of MSA working with Tweetie L. Moore to create the Community/Levels System. Dr. Slayden received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, and he is a founding partner of Atlanta Area Family Psychiatry Clinic, P.C. Dr. Slayden is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, which recently awarded him Life Membership status.
