We're Counting Down

It's hard to believe that we have only 25 days of school left. This week we have had students/faculty visiting from Little Wound School, which is on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in Kyle, SD. We have held an Open House, a luncheon for the rising 7th grade girls, an appreciation luncheon for the teachers/faculty and tomorrow is Prom. So once again we have had a very eventful week. Keep on the lookout as we countdown these last five weeks. They will come and go so quickly and there is so much to see and do, I wouldn't want you to miss it.

There is lots of fun stuff to watch for in this week's MSA Weekly News. Make sure you look for the Spring Break pictures sprinkled throughout, National Library Week and Teacher Appreciation tidbits as well.

A Giant Thank YOU!

A giant thank you to our Parent Volunteer Association for providing lunch for all of the staff and faculty on Teacher Appreciation Day yesterday. The lunch from Chipotle was just wonderful and we are so thankful to our PVA for taking care of us! Also thank you to the parents that came and monitored classes, allowing teachers the opportunity to go and sit down to eat the lunch. It was a nice break.

National Library Week 1 of 2

Dear Ms. Brittany,

I think you are a funny and kind librarian. I like to read sometimes, and you manage a good selection. I love how you read cool books to us before we check out. I discovered my second favorite book in the school library. It is called Reef of Death and was written by Paul Zindel. It is a great book. The library also houses my top favorite by the same author. It's called Loch. I hope you have a good rest of the week.

Sam Franco, 4th grade in the Lower School

National Library Week 2 of 2

Thank you for all the things you have done for me. You have helped me since I was in third grade. You have also helped me find books to check out and shown me books that you think I would be interested in. You also told me about books like The One and Only Ivan and Ungifted. Thank you for all of those things that you did for me.

Carpool Tips

  • Dismissal times are as follows: Lower– 2:45pm.  Middle– 3:00pm.  PU/CA/U – 3:15pm.  Buses pick up at 3:25pm. To avoid the PU/CA/U carpool line, parents can wait until 3:30 to pick up.
  • The carpool lane is a NO PASSING ZONE, at all times and especially if there is a bus with FLASHING LIGHTS.
  • The speed limit on campus is 10 miles per hour.
  • To keep the carpool line moving – ensure your carpool tag is on your rear view mirror BEFORE entering the carpool line.
  • Do NOT leave your car unattended in the carpool line. If you need to go inside, please PARK.
  • Contact your principal, either via phone or email, as early as possible if there is a change in transportation.
  • If you exit from the L/M carpool line, please watch for the traffic coordinator to wave you on before coming down the hill to leave campus.
  • If you need to pick up a PU/CA/U student early, plan to arrive before 2:30 as it will be difficult to get to the PU/CA/U parking lot once carpool begins.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation in making our carpool safe for students and everyone.

This Summer on Campus

This summer we are offering Summer School (for high school students), Sport Camps, and Mark Trail Camp. All of our programs are open to the general public and advertised outside of school as well. So don't wait to secure your spot and invite your friends.

If you need or know someone that needs Summer School (rising 9-12 grades), come to MSA this summer. We are offering core classes and certain electives under our Forward Thinking program. Look for SUMMER SCHOOL INFO HERE.

We are offering a different sport camp each week over the course of the summer where students can practice or learn new skills. You can find the SUMMER SPORTS INFO HERE.

Information on the MARK TRAIL CAMP is HERE. MTC is an activity based camp for 6-14 year olds.
