Mill Springs was the first in the area to enact a 1-to-1 laptop program, beginning with Toshiba laptops in 1998. Today, students in grades 4 though 12 use Lenovo ThinkPad laptops to help bridge any gaps that may exist, allowing our students to produce written work they are proud of, many for the first time. The student laptop comes equipped with the latest version of Microsoft Office, as well as several assistive technology programs that display and read student textbooks, fiction books and teacher-created assignments. Students use their laptops and the internet to expand available resources beyond the textbook, to create innovative presentations and artwork, to view grades, assignments, and teacher notes anytime, anyplace and to communicate with their teachers. Mill Springs has on-site technical and educational support to ensure the student's experience with technology is as stress-free and productive as possible.
