Mill Springs was the first in the area to enact a 1-to-1 laptop program, beginning with Toshiba laptops in 1998. Today, students in grades 4 through 12 use Lenovo ThinkPad laptops to help bridge any gaps that may exist, allowing our students to produce written work they are proud of, many for the first time. The children’s laptops come equipped with several assistive technology programs that display and read student textbooks, fiction books, and teacher-created assignments. Students use their laptops and the internet to expand available resources beyond the textbook, to create innovative presentations and artwork, to view grades, assignments, and teacher notes anytime, anyplace, and to communicate with their teachers. Mill Springs has onsite technical and educational support to ensure our students’ experiences with technology are as stress-free and productive as possible.
