| Georgia History Fall Semester Project Please complete all of the following: 1. Write 10 historical facts about Georgia. Each fact needs to be in a complete sentence. 2. Design a “Welcome to Georgia” sign that could be placed on a highway when entering the state (you need to design it yourself on computer or paper with color). 3. Design a 3 fold brochure that would attract people to come to Georgia (interesting facts, places, people, etc). 4. Identify on a map, 5 agricultural products that grow in Georgia, indicate where they grow, and what they are used for. 5. Choose 3 famous Georgian’s and describe them in one paragraph each (4-6 sentences). 6. Write 2 paragraphs (4-6 compete sentences each) describing your favorite place to visit in Georgia (include historical background, and tourist information). 7. Name and describe 3 battles that have been fought in Georgia from the Revolutionary War to the present (4-6 sentences for each battle). 8. Complete in the correct format, 3 current events from a newspaper, Internet, or magazine (informative/positive Georgia events). 9. List Georgia’s (1) Mayor of Atlanta, (2) National Senators, (1) State Governor, (2) National House of Representatives members. 10. Design a new flag for Georgia (use the computer or draw it your self with color). 11. Write 3 historical facts about the city you currently live in complete sentences (ex: Alpharetta). 12. Draw a picture of the state bird, tree, flower, fish, and shell. (do not do on computer) 13.Write 1 paragraph (4-6 sentences) about why you think Georgia is an interesting place to live. 14. Write 1 paragraph (4-6 sentences) about your favorite thing you learned and what you want to learn this year in Georgia History. Project Format 1. Please put all assignments in a 3 brad folder with pockets. 2. Please make a cover sheet with your name, the date, and what period you are in. 3. Please follow directions for each question- if you have any questions, please ask me!!!!! 4. Please put each question on a separate page and number them 1-14. 5. Remember all paragraphs are to have 4-6 COMPLETE sentences. 6. All projects must be typed. Each project is graded on creativity, thorough details/research, and following directions.
