Mill Spring Academy 2012 Summer Sports Camps are a place where athletes will learn, enhance and practice new skills. They will become more proficient in their desired sport and have lots of fun with our dedicated, experienced and amazing coaching staff!

UCA Cheer          June 4-7, 2012             2:30-6:30pm                UCA Cheer Coaches & Coach Angela Ragsdale       
Coach Angela has over 12 years of cheer experience at different levels including coaching, competition squad and National Championships. MSA & UCA Cheer Camp will instill responsibility, confidence, enthusiasm, motivation and “transform young people into dynamic spirit leaders AND help them develop strong leadership skills for life”.
 
(Co-Ed) Basketball               June 4-7, 2012          9:00am-2:00pm       Coach Phil Hanson
Coach Phil has over 28 years of basketball experience at Georgia Tech and Mill Springs Academy. He has achieved one ACC Championship and three AAC Championships. MSA Basketball camp will focus on: running, passing, pivoting, dribbling, shooting, defensive footwork, rebounding, fast breaks, layups, individual offensive moves, team offense, 5 on 5 games, 3 on 3 games and fun contests.
 
(Co-Ed) Strength & Conditioning                 June 11-15, 2012          4:00-7:00pm      Coach Richard Miranda, PT          
Coach Richard has 22 years of experience in the fitness industry and 8 years of coaching. He is certified personal trainer and metabolic specialist and USA Boxing and Wrestling. In camp the focus will be on setting personal goals and will follow the National Academy for Sports Medicine (NASM) optimal performance training concepts which includes stability, strength, power, speed and agility.

Coach Matthew McConnell has over 8 years of golf coaching experience and has taken his team to the state level for over 5 years. Camp will focus on fundamentals and specialized skills to enhance each individuals golf game which will be applied on the course.

Coach Victoria Jones has over 18 years of coaching experience and 9 years of competitive         running (

Baseball               June 25-29, 2012      9:00am-12:00pm     Coaches Wally Crancer & Brett Beasley                                     
Coach Crancer is a former Georgia Tech and Baltimore Orioles baseball player who is a private instructor with Ninth Inning Baseball. Coach Beasley is a former NFL combine trainer who specializes in strength & conditioning, speed & agility. Camp will focus on hitting, fielding, speed, agility and specialized position work.

Coach Brian Buxton has over 35 years of tennis experience coaching different levels and ages. Coach Anne Holland has over 8 years of tennis experience and has achieved several honors in different leagues and levels. Camp will focus on basic conditioning, footwork, strokes. Drills and strategies will be applied for singles and doubles players at every level.
 
Girls Volleyball            July 16-20, 2012          5:00-8:00pm            Coach Karen Brown, Accelerated Athlete, Inc.    
Coach Karen Brown played for the University of Cincinnati and has over 10 years of coaching experience for Milton High School and the Jr. Olympic Team. Camp will focus on strength, flexibility, position work and drills to enhance their skills as a team and an individual.
 
Wrestling                July 23-27, 2012                9:00am-2:00pm       Coach Richard Miranda, PT                                      
Coach Richard has 22 years of experience in the fitness industry and 8 years of coaching. He is certified personal trainer and metabolic     specialist and USA Boxing and Wrestling. In camp the focus will be on enhancing and improving specialized wrestling skills.
 
(Co-Ed) Lacrosse        July 30– August 1, 2012           9:00am-2:00pm      Coach Liam Banks & John Zulberti, LB3 Lacrosse       
Coach Liam Banks is a 2X All American from Syracuse Univ. and MVP of the 2000 National Championships, U19 USA World Team and Asst. Coach of Univ. of Maryland. Coach John is a 4x All American from Syracuse Univ., 3x National Champion and 2x Winner of the "Best Attackman in the Nation" (www.lb3lacrosse.com). Camp will focus on skills such as: cradling, passing, catching, shooting, communication, defensive footwork, goalie training and odd man situations.

 

 August 2012

Coach Phil has over 8 years of Soccer coaching experience at Mill Springs Academy and has placed in the top 3 for the past 5 years. MSA Soccer camp will focus on: running, passing, dribbling, defensive footwork, fast breaks, individual offensive moves, team offense/defense and other fun and interactive games and contests.
