Grades 9 - 12
Students attending MSA, ninth through twelfth grades, must earn 26 Carnegie Units (CU) to graduate. Mill Springs Academy uses the semester system. Each class earns 0.5 CU per semester. One (1.0) CU is equivalent to 15 credit hours. Students also earn credits in elective courses.
English - 4 Units: World Literature, American Literature, British Literature, Senior English
Social Studies - 3 Units: World History, American History, Political Science/Economics. Holocaust studies is a one-semester elective which is not required.
Mathematics - 4 Units: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Consumer Math
Foreign Language - 2 Units: Spanish I, Spanish II, Spanish III is also offered. The language requirement may be waived for students who have a language-based learning disability. Two years of a language are not a requirement for entrance into community colleges, tech schools, two-year colleges, and many four-year colleges.
Science - 3 Units (for Class of 2010 & 2011) Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, Anatomy & Physiology, and Physics. (Beginning with the Class of 2012 four (4) Units will be required)
Physical Education - 1 Unit

Language Arts - Language Literature 7, Language Literature 8
Social Sciences - Social Studies 7 or 8, World Cultures 7 or 8, Georgia History (one semester 8th)
Science - Life Science 7, Physical Science 8
Math - General Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I
